![]() The designer's guide to working with Photoshop's Filter Factory by David Nagel, Executive Producer Over the last few weeks we've looked at two ways to create custom filters for Adobe Photoshop. Both of these methods involved Filter Factory, a free plugin that comes with Photoshop. Filter Factory is a tool that lets you write your own Photoshop filters. It's distinguished from the other Photoshop filter creation tools out there by the fact that it's the only one available for the Macintosh and also the fact that it's free. Microsoft To The Rescue? by Kevin Schmitt, Contributing Editor Before I get into this week's topic, I want to give a quick shout out to all of you who graced my virtual inbox with letters of sympathy/support/commiseration after reading my previous column about my TiBook shopping experience. This includes NewTek LightWave, Electric Image Universe, Maxon Cinema 4D XL and, most recently, Alias|Wavefront Maya. But the 2D animation space is beginning to shape up as well. ![]() Creating a Bonanza-style transition from within your NLE by Tim Wilson This week Tim Wilson, one-time Man About Town and former Minister of PowerBook Propaganda here at Creative Mac, returns to share his knowledge of all things video on the Mac. Since leaving us, he's taken a position at Artel Software, the company that makes Boris FX, Boris RED and other compositing and effects packages. So, appropriately enough, he's providing us with this exclusive tutorial on using the Fire effect that now ships with Boris FX 6. |
