Windows products to be discontinued in September Continuing its string of acquisitions in the professional creative market, Apple has purchased audio developer Emagic. Emagic is the company that produces several popular audio software suites, MIDI and audio interfaces and virtual instruments. According to Apple, Emagic's product line for Windows, which makes up 35 percent of Emagic's sales, will be discontinued Sept. 30. New booty for Cupertino's imperialists If you were in any doubt about Apple's direction in the past, you can now be pretty certain now where things are heading. With the acquisition of Emagic yesterday, Apple made its plans completely clear for the Macintosh platform: total domination of the creative market.
Import your music the right way Need to import audio files into your Final Cut Pro 3 project? At some point you will need to, and who wants to spend valuable time flipping through four different manuals to find the answer? Using markers to quickly edit a music video Ever wish you could edit video to the beat of the music quickly and easily? In Apple’s Final Cut Pro 3, using markers to time out your shots makes editing a snap. Software allows Avid Xpress DV to integrate with Adobe After Effects Automatic Duck has released another in its series of Automatic Composition Import (ACI) programs for Adobe After Effects. ACI is a set of tools that allows Adobe After Effects to integrate with NLEs, such as Final Cut Pro and high-end Avid systems. The latest release, Automatic Composition Import DV, is designed to integrate After Effects with the newly released Avid Xpress DV 3.5 for Macintosh. |
