![]() Creating additional button presets Last time around with iDVD 2, we took a look at methods for creating custom buttons by replacing the default buttons with ones that you've created yourself. This week we look at an additional possibility with buttons--the ability to add to the list of available default buttons. ![]() Open-source printing tools for Mac OS X All of you who have printing problems in Mac OS X, open up your e-mail program and get ready to type a thank-you letter. I'm about to introduce you to a tool that will not only open up all of the possibilities of your printer from any application under Mac OS X, but will also cause you to utter an audible gasp of awe as you stare in amazement at how wonderfully and elegantly this tool--Gimp-Print--works. You might also want to take out a hanky, as you're bound to get a little teary-eyed at the realization that something this great could actually be free.
![]() Charcoal, chalk, conte and crayon Response to our first series of brushes for Adobe Photoshop 7 was so positive that I couldn't help but create a second set. Rather than focusing on specific applicators, as I did in the previous series, this week I decided to create a set of brushes (Nagel Series 2 Brushes) that hopefully do a decent job of emulating some of my favorite natural media: charcoal, chalk, conte crayon and wax crayon. ![]() Part 1: The pilot episode, where we attempt to explain what's going on here As incredible as this may sound, one day I found myself thinking. There are, after all, twenty-four hours in a day, and once I wake up I do have a good three, maybe four hours to kill. So between the time m'stories come on and the daily dates I keep with the Honorable Judges Judy/Larry Joe/Mablean/Joe Brown/Mathis/Hatchette, I do try to fire up the old noodle every once in a while in a mostly futile attempt to come up some intriguing stuff for you, the valued reader. Backing up at project end I had a reader contact me last week asking what was an easy way to back up and save Final Cut Pro projects at the end of a job. I think everyone has a different take on this subject, and while it may not be the best solution, here is my suggestion. |
