Tips
& Tricks for OS X
Your preliminary guide to the new system
The final
release of Mac OS X has been out just a little more than a week now,
so, if you're one of the daring who chose to install it despite very
legitimate concerns, you're probably still wondering what's going on.
Why can I hide my windows? How do I change the look of this thing? Why
do I have to wait for Classic to load just so I can launch an application?
Well, here are some tips to help you get the most out of your OS X installation.
BIG
NEWS
FreeHand
10 Coming to Mac, Mac OS X and Windows Concurrently
New version
in beta, set to ship in May with special pricing on Flash Freehand Studio
Macromedia
has announced that it will release the next version of its vector illustration
tool, FreeHand 10, for Mac, Mac OS X and Windows concurrently. This
makes FreeHand 10 not only the first professional vector illustration
program for OS X but also the first application to be released for all
three systems at once.
The new version of Freehand enhances integration with Macromedia Flash
and also adds new creative tools, productivity enhancements, a new interface
and the ability to "multi-publish" for print and the Web.

Talkin' Smack: Champions
of OS X
In the
first week of the new OS, the pro market starts to shape up
We've
seen some odd, negative announcements in the last few weeks regarding
OS X. I've covered them in detail, so I won't go into them again. But
after the first week of the release of Apple's new operating system, I
thought it might be nice to take a look at some of the positive developments
going on in the professional arena that bode well for the future of OS
X as a serious tool for Macintosh creative pros.
